Alas, friends, creative characters and excellent writers, I’ve recently grown too busy in RL to give my writing the attention you deserve. Evenings I once had two hours to write and polish a post are now reduced to a paltry 20 minutes. Weekends which allowed hours of writing, rewriting and starting anew are now filled with a million must-dos.
Work, a dreary endeavor that had the merit of being predictable as clockwork, has grown into frenetic activity. Losses of critical staff have translated to lots of smiling accountants, but the rest of us—we few—we weary few--must hoist onto our overburdened backs the heavy loads of the lost and not slack our pace. Management requested we sign a waiver saying we’re willing to give up our Saturdays—work it for free--for the greater good…of the bottom line. So the 40 hour week is gone—for the nonce…until the economy gets better—they say.
So, I’m highly squeezed for time, can’t write, can’t keep up. I don’t want to hold you back. I need to take a leave from simming for a month, perhaps two, just until these year-end work commitments are met or I just walk away.
I'm sorry to have to temporarily abandon them, but you can play my characters or have them slip out of the action.
I’ll miss you. Be of good cheer. I have ink for blood. I cannot NOT write. Like Ah-nold, I’ll be back.
