Sweat rolled off his brow, stinging his eyes, but he didn't dare blink. TIK TIK TIK. The operation was so delicate, so precise, he didn't, wouldn't rick his hand slipping even a fraction of a centimeter. TIK TIK TIK. He moved the probe deeper in his right hand, turning his left gently, setting his teeth at the damage the tools caused. Too much damage to the innards and all would be for naught, but there was no other way he had to go in manually. TIK TIK.

“More light.” it was barely a whisper but it carried in the silence. A second lamp was swung into place. Somebody placed a hand lightly on his back, meant as a comfort, a gesture of support, all the same his heart nearly stopped. TIK TIK CLACK!

The probe slipped!

Prescott Tsou went pale, what would happen next? He had no option but to push deeper, hoping that the heart wrenching 'clack' was the sound of the final tumbler falling into place, and not the sound of the security chip inside the lock of the Bank's main vault. If that wafer thin chip had cracked, the vault's internal mechanisms would be seized and they would be humped.

Scott dared not breath as he spun the crank on the heavy door's face. He couldn't let the others know what he feared. If the Gorram door didn't budge it would take them time to realize why, time he planned to use to Che Tui [Bug Out] before they turned on each other or him. And if the door did open, well, no reason to worry them, then was there. He'd take his cut and be on his merry way. After all, it wasn't HIS idea to do these high risk jobs. He was a master of small time jobs, not much profit and not much risk.

The slender young man glanced over his shoulder, the big gun and even bigger man directly behind him made his mouth go dry. Brick had his full attention on the staircase at the end of the hallway. If a problem came up in this job, Brick's limited imagination told the gun toting behemoth, that was where it would come from. Scott looked left at the skeletal Chester, then right to Lynn and Gerry, the brains of this operation. Those two would be the first to figure out something was wrong, but Chester would be the first to do something ... rash. The Wong Ba Duhn [Son of a Bitch] liked blood, got off on it, Scott thought.

Lynn caught his gaze, arched one immaculately shaped eyebrow. She leaned against a desk one shapely leg up on a chair, a causal enough posture, almost as if she didn't mean to show off the form fitting leather pants and knee high combat boots. As her arms crossed her breasts, he gave her his most winning smile, knowing she hated the fact that his mind didn't turn to mush at the sight of her.

Mentally, Scott crossed his fingers as he turned and pulled the vaults lever-like handle. At first, nothing changed then, with the sigh-like hiss of a vacuum breaking, the giant door swung open. Scott almost cheered, but instead he adopted a suitably smug expression and walked the door fully open. To add to the grandeur of the loots reveal, Scott stepped out of the doorway, allowing Lynn and Gerry an unobstructed view. Chester had found himself an unobstructed view more to his taste, Lynn's muscular thigh. While Lynn was still watching Scott, Gerry was staring at the slow moving door with visions of riches in his heart.

The shock that spread across Gerry's face rippled like electricity, Lynn's eyes went wide, and her gasp brought Chester out of his stupor.

“Mah, Mah, Mah.” A man's voice, smooth as velvet and hard as diamond, filled the room as though amplified. “Ah'd have 'spected you boys through tha' door a might speedier than tha'. Y'all mus' be new ah this.”

The sheriff's smile could have curdled milk. His gaze trailed lazily down Lynn's form and back to her top. “Beggin' yah pa'don Ma'am,” He tipped his hat gingerly, “di'na 'spect to be 'restin' any women-folk tonight.” Chester must have thought he had a chance while the lawman was distracted, he went for his piece, but the lawman moved like greased lightning and the old man died with a gurgle and a hole in his face where none belonged.

Gerry's hand had barely reached his side when he froze, staring down the barrel of the sheriff’s still smoking sidearm. Brick's weapon dangled uselessly at the level of his knee as he stared mouth agape at the mysterious figure in denim and brown leather.

“DOWN ON THE FLOOR! WEAPONS DOWN! EVERYBODY SHOW ME YOUR HANDS!” The Tack unit streamed down the stairs in a flood of body armour and gusto. Brick let out the cry of a beast who's delicate mind had had enough, firing wildly as he brought his gun to bear on the threat he could understand easily. One man died in silence as his standard issue body armour was torn through like tissue paper under the spray of shot. Another died screaming for his mother. Brick charged as he fired, ignoring the pathetically few shot let off by the other police, and was among them in an instant. The Tack Unit dared not fire for fear of hitting a comrade, Brick had no such scruples and fired wildly.

Both the Sheriff and Gerry dove to the floor as the wall was painted with police and buckshot. Lynn overturned the desk the moment Brick first moved and was hiding behind it, taking whatever shot presented itself all the while trying to see where the sheriff had gotten to. Gerry found himself disarmed by the dive and was grappling with one of the Tack Unit.

It was that moment that Scott remembered to breathe. Still standing behind the thick vault door, he was safe from bullet and view alike. The law hadn't noticed him and the other three had forgotten about him for the moment.

His small bag of tools was just out of reach on the far side of the door. That was his first thought. So, dropping to his belly he pushed his slight figure out and scurried over to his belongings. He grabbed the bag and the folio of files and picks. Then with a longing glance inside the vault, he scurried once more for cover... and he almost made it unscathed.

A pain, so intense it burned, lashed across his side just above the hip. It must have been a stray buckshot pellet, maybe a ricochet. It dropped him to the floor. Crying out, Scott pulled himself into a ball. He wanted to curl up and hide until it was all over. A tile exploded not half a meter from his face, raining shards of ceramic down on him, a cruel reminder that this was neither the time nor the place to lay low. This was the time to fight or flee. Scott fled, pulling himself and his bag behind the vault door once more. He pulled himself to his feet and collected his wits.

Slightly above his head was a vent, the air ducts. Ruled out early on in the planning because there was no way to enter them without setting off every alarm in the place. Scott fished a cold-arch-cutter out of his bag. 'No point in being neat about it now', he thought as he quickly turned the screws to slag.

The jump to the next roof hadn't been far, but the pain had been jarring. His head swam and his vision blurred as Scott stumbled down the alley. He needed to get away, far away from the bank, but a man bleeding and stumbling from a crime scene would draw folks to noticing. What he needed more than anything was to disappear. One thing Scott was sure of, growing up on the rim, was that nothing made problems disappear better than cash.

Scott grabbed a jacket off of a laundry line as he hurried along, using it to hide the growing stain on his shirt. He turned a corner and emerged into a crowed street. People were rushing about, on their way home for supper, on their way out for the night. He slipped among them like a cat into shadow.

Several people jostled him, on his way through the crowd, each to their loss. By the time he'd left the busy street he'd collected four wallets, a watch, and a black-pearl bracelet. He collected all the cash out of the wallets, wiped his prints off of them and dumped them in a trash can. Finding himself on the edge of the docks, Scott stared at the ships, coming, going, some docked and waiting. That was his ticket, his way out, there was no other choice. There was never question about going home, to his tiny apartment above the butcher's, Weren't much more than a store room with a bunk.

He had no idea if anyone else had gotten away from the bank, if they hadn't the police would be there in moments, Brick was too stupid to lie, and Lynn? Lynn would flip on him in an instant, just because she could. It was only Gerry who... No, no time for that now. Now he had to get away, get someplace safe.

The couple that Bug had escorted onto the ship earlier appeared at the top of the ramp. An immediate grimace of distaste crossed the womans face and she tugged at her companion's arm. A hurried, tense conversation took place. All conducted via furious whispers.

They disappeared for a few minutes. When they returned they had picked up their bags. It was obvious they were leaving.

"We're sorry..." began the man. She cut him off with a sharp move of her hand. "We're not sorry. I wanted a peaceful ship to fly on. Not one where this seems to be.. be.. normal!"

And they stalked off, noses in the proverbial air.

Kynthia arrived at the tail end of the snarl and could only think that those ships what were proper quiet an' all were all the ones that never flew anymore. Still.. here we were..

"What in the seven layers of the stinkin' Alliance hell be happenin'?" She demanded as she strode into the group.

TAG - all.

Lu grabbed her arm and took her off to one side to explain the situation with Belladonna, the girl they were supposed to pick up to take back to some arranged marriage and the wee complication of a lover in the wings.

Kynthia suddenly wished she'd had more than the one drink.

"A lover. An' she's supposed to be all virgin-y white for her weddin' day. We ain't got much intel on this one Lu. Somethin' still bothers me some about it. Ain't feelin' right. Girl had to know she was gettin' a marriage out of Daddy, an' why'd he send her here? "

TAG - Lu.

Lu grumbled slightly as she knew this mission would just cause more headaches as it went along. This girl was almost more trouble than she was worth.

"Or the girl knew and ran to hide here. I doubt her daddy would have sent her to a place like this." She rubbed her forehead, "Wonder if her daddy hired Belladonna, who in turn hired us."

Shaking her head, she went off to the bridge to sit and think. They had a girl that wasn't going to come willingly, along with the man that she had with her. Interrupting one love so that an arranged marriage could be force was not something she was fond of.

Outside the ship, a squadron of purple bellies marched into the area. Tinny orders snapped through megaphones created more chaos as people scurried to get away from them. Kynthia had an immediate flashback to some unpleasant times.

"If anyone has seen or heard anything unusual, they must immediately report to the Alliance. Valuable merchandise has been stolen and must be recovered."

"Good on whoever did it." Murmured Ky as she headed back out of the ship again. She wanted to see what was going on, and who was involved. If there was someone that needed help, maybe they'd be able to wrangle them onboard and out of this particular town. Especially since it sounded like they needed to move away from here, or get caught in some sting operation what they didn't need.

She looked at the members of the Monarch crew and passenger set that were still around the ship and nodded to them, slowly.

"Heyas all. Might be a good idea to head inside. I'm goin' to ask the fine alliance types there to let us take off as soon as they can. Round 'em up as it were. We've got another spot to be goin' along to."

Then she spotted it. Someone in the far back of the crowd, slightly crouched over and hunching to one side. She couldn't put a finger on it, but she bet that this was the person they were hunting. She tried to catch his eyes, and when he stared at the ships for a moment, she pantomimed him coming up to the ramp and being welcome. She hoped he or she saw it.

Addy walked back into the cargo bay. He had done his part and now the people who could help would help. He looked through the crowd from behind the woman he called captain. He had his left hand sitting on the grip of his pistol. "Ky, I think we've irritated enough people."

Was it a ship or a wreck waiting to be scrapped? Prescott honestly couldn't tell, the firefly sat in a lonely corner of the shipyard. The Firefly model had been outdated before Prescott had been born. He had only ever seen one other in his lifetime, an old miner's hauler than had crashed of take off a few years back. This one looked in better shape thankfully, her hull had been painted recently, she rested easily on her struts. Prescott Tsou barely gave it a second glance as he moves further into the shipyard. He needed somewhere to hide and, as the ever spreading stain under his newly acquired greatcoat reminded him, medical attention.

Scott bit the inside of his cheek, trying not to grimace, as he prodded gently at the spot, his hand came back sticky and crimson. The crowd moved around him obliviously, going about their usual routine. That's when Scott spotted it, the perfect ship for him, a squat little Tyson Swift Liner. The little ship, about the size of the Firefly with out the ridiculous bird neck, was painted in a sharp Green & Gold pattern, and best of all was taking on passengers. All he needed to do was get in close enough to the group boarding to be taken for one of them.

“EVERYBODY OUTTA T'WAY!” Someone was shoved, none too gently to the ground. Around the corner, from between a row on docked ships came a group of Local Marines.

“TAKE OFF YOUR HAT!”

“YOU THERE, TURN ROUND!”

“Is that REALLY a woman?”

Apparently picking people from the crowd at random the Soldiers were clearly looking for somebody, and Scott would bet his last credit he knew who that somebody was. With a final glance at the Tyson, on the far side of the Marines, Scott turned back the way he had come. To his dismay a second, smaller group of marines were bustling through the crowd.

“If anyone has seen or heard anything unusual, they must immediately report to the Alliance. Valuable Merchandise has been Stolen and must be recovered.” Deputy Rykel lowered the megaphone as the sheriff passed him. “We've almost secured the port sir, all the 'cess points'll be covered in a minute.”

The sheriff chewed on a toothpick for a moment, then picked the absurdly wide-brimmed hat he wore off his head and wiped his forehead. “Rykel, ye don' already have all access points cov'e'd?” he asked quietly.

Rykel's mouth was suddenly dry, and not from the dusty air, “No sir Almost just.” he didn't even see the slap, just heard it and then felt it.

“What in Sam Hell, ye doin' wavin' tha' 'phone 'round? Ye WANT that li'l Niao Ma Yi t' know y'all are comin'?” the sheriff still hadn't raised his voice.

Scott was starting to feel trapped, soldiers on both sides and closing in. He looked frantically around for an other escape, that's when he noticed the woman on the ramp on the Firefly. She however had already noticed him, she was staring right at him.

His blood ran cold, his legs turned to jelly and his life flashed before his eyes. All the woman needed do was shout, or point, something to draw the sheriff's attention and it was all over for him. But... she didn't, she kept on looking at him, then gestured up the ramp into the ship.

Scott couldn't believe his eyes, his luck. He still wasn't willing to push that new found luck by walking straight up the ramp. Instead he ducked between the Firefly and her neighbour, headed aft. He took care to read the name painted on the hull as he passed, Monarch, it may be a flying piece of go-se but it was safe.

Rykel was still rubbing his cheek sulking when the sheriff cleared his throat. Striding towards them down the ramp of a Firefly Class Vessel was a woman, a rather attractive woman. Rykel straightened up, sucking in his gut as she approached.

“Wha' G'd Eve'n, ma'am,” the sheriff tipped the hat forward, “wha can ah do fer a perty lil' thing like y'all?”

The reflection felt different, but she wasn't sure how. Lu stared into the mirror in her room with a sigh. The blue streaks she had kept in her hair for so long were all but gone, and she looked ragged. That was the one thing about being in space, she didn't have any way to keep the ragged look away.

Random thoughts she told herself, don't pay attention to your look. Since when did she ever care about how she looked as it was? Shaking her head, she pulled her blonde hair up to a ponytail at the back of her head when she heard Kynthia over the com.

Getting ready to leave meant that she was needed back on the bridge. Climbing up the ladder, she found her way quickly to the bridge and sat down in her seat to check over everything.

Just like normal, it seemed they were going to be leaving in a hurry. That hadn't changed in the year she was gone. Toggling the com, she hoped that Kynthia was listening.

"Kynth, ready for power up here when you need it."

Gulliver hoped that another spot meant Violet. He wasn’t going to get his hopes up at this early point until the Captain said so. He raised his eyes towards the sky, or in this case, the top of the cargo bay. He was beginning to think that he should never have boarded this fine ship, with her fine crew. He’d wait and see where the good Captain took him next before deciding whether to leave or not.

Debbie let the boy lead her into the ship, walking cautiously as her eyes adjusted to the change of light.
"I think I know where the passenger rooms are, sweetling," she ruffled the boys hair, "Go on and I'll get myself squared away."

tag - Bug

After a few checks, Debbie found the unoccupied cabin and clambered down the ladder and into the utilitarian space. It had been painted a faded blue at some point, though it was chipped in many places, and there was an equally faded painting of what looked to be an archaic sailing vessel. She smiled - it was much nicer than most cabins she'd been in; and while it was not as posh and streamlined as quarters she'd held on Alliance carriers, it certainly was nice to have a cabin all to herself.

She dropped her bag and overcoat onto the deck in the corner, then began opening all the cubby holes to see what she had. A sink, toilet, bed, shower, clothes locker, and small laundry tub were all tucked neatly away into the bulkheads, and a little desk dropped down from the deckhead at the turn of a latch. Debbie grinned and tested out the bed, leaning back with her eyes half shut. It was more than suitable - it was fantastic. It was so soft she felt like she was resting on a cloud.... Her eyelids grew heavier and it suddenly felt like gravity doubled its effect on her arms and legs. She was just teetering at the edge of sleep when a loud voice brought her sharply into wakefulness.

"Heyas all. Might be a good idea to head inside. I'm goin' to ask the fine alliance types there to let us take off as soon as they can. Round 'em up as it were. We've got another spot to be goin' along to."

'Note to self,' Debbie sighed as she pulled herself back onto her feet, hands automatically checking the moneybelt hidden on her person, 'sound carries on these ships.'

The rumble of equiptment and the hum of electronics confirmed that the ship was getting flashed up and ready to depart. 'Guess I'd best go see if I can be put to use.'

"Ky, I think we've irritated enough people." Addy said from one side of her. Kynthia nodded, keeping an eye on the crowd and almost feeling the undercurrents swirl around her. It was getting ugly, she could sense it.

"There." she pointed to a sudden roil in the storm waiting to break. People were moving in a different way than they had before. "The soldiers are getting impatient. Tell Lu to warm the engines. I'm waiting for someone to arrive. I don't know who, but there's goin' to be someone bouncing' through that crowd in a moment, in a hurry."

TAG - Addy.

No sooner had she murmured to Addy than a man approached her from the crowd. She tilted her head to one side as he walked up to her, obviously preening slightly to look more attractive. As if her crudely chopped hair and the thick snacking scar at her temple were any indication of 'pretty'.

“Wha' G'd Eve'n, ma'am,” the sheriff tipped the hat forward, “wha can ah do fer a perty lil' thing like y'all?”

"I got permission from the landing crew to be here." She replied, her voice polite but stern. "I'd like to be taking off once my crew is back onboard. Ain't wanting to be caught in whatever is going on over there."

The man stared at her blankly. He puffed himself up and a sneer crossed his face. "Wha' you need to hide then?" he demanded. Kynthia's eyes immediately narrowed and she stalked down the ramp towards the upstart sheriff.

"I ain't got nothing' what needs hiding. You bring a group of them soldiers onboard my ship right the hell now an see for yourself. Hear me? I am waiting' on a member of my crew to get his happy ass through that there crowd afore it gets ugly and then we're going."

"We'll see."

Ky sighed as she watched him turn on his heel and march up to the nearest purple bellied idiot and mutter to him, turning and pointing to her. She waved, then placed her hands on her hips.

Come on, where are you stranger? Get the hell on this boat so we can get off this mudball She thought, scanning the crowd for the person she'd seen earlier.

Then she relaxed slightly. There. A man making his way straight to the ramp of her ship. She put on a stern looking face and motioned to him impatiently.

"Get your gorram ass on this here boat right now. Ain't you seeing how this here crowd is getting antsy?"

TAG - Scott.

The sheriff looked disappointed when he saw the man arrive at the ship. He continued to talk to the soldier, who was obviously beginning to get annoyed about this local trying to tell him his job. Finally, he shook off the irritating man and turned directly towards The Monarch.

Kynthia pointed at her ship and then at the sky and held her hands out in a "Can we?" gesture. The sheriff talked faster. The soldier took a step towards the ship. Kynthia rolled her eyes in an exaggerated "Oh come on.. can't you see he's a complete jerk?" manner. The soldier looked from her to the Sheriff and nodded briefly.

The soldier waved a languid hand towards Kynthia, who nodded, turned and hurried back up the ramp and into the ship. She slapped the controls for the hydraulics and watched the ramp close slowly. As soon as the ship was tight, she then toggled the ship's comm.

"Buckle in people. We're takin' off. Got the OK from the fine upstandin' Alliance folks out there. Lu, get off this here part of this world. Next stop, Violet, the play moon of the rich an' famous."

TAG - all.

She turned then to the man who'd hurried onto her ship at the last moment.

"That's about you?" she asked him, not unkindly. "Better not be making me wonder if I made a mistake letting you on my ship."

TAG - Scott.

Addy wondered what was she was talking about until he found out just by watching. He watched at things unfolded without saying anything. He watched at the Captain worked her magic. She really knew how to work any situation. He wondered if she knew or her confidence just made it seem like she knew what she was doing. His hand never left the grip of his pistol was he watched. Suddenly it was over. The captain walked up the ramp. Violet He thought, he had not been there for five years and wondered if anyone would recognize him. He shook his head and realized that he no longer cared. He made his way just clear of the ramp and turned to the man still slightly behind the captain. He listened to the captain still holding the pistol. He looked the man up and down and measured him. "I don't think we will have a problem with him, Ky."

Lu had been staring off into space...er...the sky, until Kynthia shouted her name over the comm, "Right, get us off this rock. I think I can handle that. Everyone hang onto something!"

A few magic button presses later, the engines were started up and hot. Once she made sure the doors were shut up tight, she flipped a couple of switches and got them off the rock. Glancing back down at the surface, the fancy little officials got the dust of takeoff all over their neat uniforms. A grin passed her lips as she got them away from the area.

"Hey Kynth, seems we ruffled some feathers down there. Take it we got someone new on board? I'll get us over to Violet as quick as I can without running the fuel cells to dry."

As the stars reappeared, it was a welcome sight compared to the dust ball they were on before. Allowing the ship to start flying itself, Lu pulled her hair back and sighed. The girl wasn't gonna be someone they could get to easily.

Reaching into her pocket, she glanced at the communicator/tracker that Belladonna had given her. She didn't dare send any updates out to her, the mission wasn't going as planned. Making sure everything was set correctly, she snuck off towards the kitchen. All that sitting around made her rather hungry.

Scott was in shock, he couldn't believe what had happened. How had he gotten to be here? On a strange ship, surrounded by strangers. As the ramp rose with a metallic groan he breathed his last wisp of Lilac's dusty air. The Airlock shut with a Whump and his stomach did a flipflop.

"That's about you?" The woman asked Scott, not unkindly. "Better not be making me wonder if I made a mistake letting you on my ship." He groped for words but his throat was suddenly parched.

"I don't think we will have a problem with him, Ky." A man's voice sounded behind Scott, giving him a start. Scott tried in vain to say something, anything. But his head was spinning now, and his vision blurred, "Uhhhhh... I ... I... I....Gerry..."

With a lurch the Monarch leaped from the ground like an animal eager to escape, gravity shifted ever so slightly as the Grav-drive and planet's natural gravity fought briefly for dominance. And with that slight shift Scott collapsed to the cold metal deck and lost contentiousness.

"Gorram" hissed Ky as she tried and failed to stop the man from landing heavily on the ground. "Addy, grab his other side, let's get him to sickbay afore he gets worse. Whatever them bullyboys done did wasn't right."

TAG - Addy.

Together they maneuvered him into the sickbay and roused Zhumei to have a look at him. The pretty young woman hurried from her cabin and took in the situation at a glance. She nodded and quickly began to assess the condition of the strange man that the captain has brought into her area.

"What's his name?" she asked.

"I... er... Thought I heard him say something about Gerry?" Kynthia replied. "Jus' see what you can do. I need to go talk to Lu an' the others. Tell 'em where we're goin' and what we are up to."

TAG - Zhumei, Addy

The metal stairs clanked as she scrambled up them as fast as she could. No bad memories about space pirates knifing her in the back here, thankfully. She shook off the memory, her hacked red hair falling into her eyes and reminding her that it was well past time she chopped some more off the length.

She found most of the rest of the folk onboard in the lounge as she passed through. "Violet next." She announced. "About a day's flight. I'll be gettin' to cookin' soon." She paused, looking around awkwardly. Then nodded, grinned and vanished into the blissful darkness of the corridor that lead to the bridge.

"Lu! Set pace for Violet. We need to figure out a plan in the next day, so's we can get this kid where she's supposed to be goin'. I don't want Belladonna after me. Again."

Even though last time, it was under my churchly title she thought. Some good comes of bein' the best assassin they got to call upon, even now.

Bug watched her enter the hall. He looked down at his hands for a long moment, then quietly stood and walked from the room. Pausing at the door to the engine room, he hovered. Thoughts filled his head. Memories of when this made sense. When it was..

shiny.

He picked up a wrench, a feeling he'd forgotten so long ago filling him. "Shoddy?" he called out into the darkness and light, the whirring engines spinning in their place and the lights strung along the climbing struts glowing softly. "Need any help?"

TAG - Shoddy.

Addy scooped the man's otherside. "Told you," They set the man on the center exam table and he took a seat himself on another by the wall. He watched as the two women talked. "I'll keep an eye down here." He said just as the Ky left. "What can I do to help?" Addy asked Zhumei.

Lu heard what Kynthia said and adjusted the course, but decided to slow the ship slightly. The more time they had to figure out a plan, the better. Once the course was set, she spun the chair around and looked at Kynthia.

"So, how do we plan to handle this? Girl's in love, and hiding. Belladonna is on my butt for information on the ship and you...though her not doing her research to know I've been on the ship before is a bit amazing."

Leaning back in the seat, she eyed Kynthia, "How's the new crew and guests? Sounded like we got someone needin' some hiding."

(I know it's been quiet guys, feel free to do whatever around the ship until we reach Violet!)

Violet. A beautiful place, filled with the elite of the elite. Or the elite that lived on the backs of the common man. The world was more green than many of the terraformed, but still rough around the edges. Dust whirled through the air when the winds blew. Most of the population lived in small towns dotted across the countryside, struggling to keep themselves, their livestock and their families alive. Probably in that order. The rest resided in immaculate enclaves. Perfectly manicured homes set among classically beautiful gardens.

The Monarch set down on a more or less flat area.

"Slightly bumpy Lu. You losin' your touch?" Kynthia called from the lounge where everyone had gathered. She looked around the rest of them.

"We got some business here. You want to go visitin' then you can. You ain't back onboard when we leave, we'll jus' be thinkin' that you don't want to be. Why you'd want to stay here is a bit out of my ken, but I'm only the captain of a freighter."

She paused, looked out the window at the drizzle that had begun to sheet the glass. "If'n you like, you can help us out a bit too."

"Slightly bumpy Lu. You losin' your touch?"

Lu chuckled and looked back as she got them settled down. "Nah, just rough place to land." She locked things up and went towards the lounge. She noticed the drizzle and went towards the lounge. "We really havin' to go out in this mess? I'm not a fan of the rain out there, Kynth."

She sat down in one of the chairs listening to Kynthia. "Do we really have to deal with stuff here? I mean...I know we need to, but that doesn't mean I want too. It's been a while since I've been here. Not everyone liked me back then."

Debbie looked around at the assorted and ragtag group in the lounge, most of whom she'd developed at least somewhat of a rapport with in the brief journey to Violet, wondering whom would stay and whom would go.
With a grin she reflected on the fact that she didn't know what her own choice would be - if she were given a choice, that is. More that once she'd taken board on a ship and ended up planetside well before expected, and rarely on a planet of her own choosing. Not that she'd been given the boot, of course, but if you dawdle in port while some of the main crew take to illegal activities there is an increased risk of being left behind.

"Well," she stood with a stretch, stiffling a yawn, "I've got no plans - what needs being done?"

Addy glanced at the captain from behind his mug. "If you need help, I am here as well." He did not truly have plans except that he needed to protect those that had been protecting him. He was different now he had not been running and hiding for over a month. He was just there. Doing the odds and ends that needed to be done.
