A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars: Dragon Squadron

Episode I

Rise of the Dragon

The Alliance to Restore the Republic has just had its first major victory against the oppressive Imperial regime. Though it was not destroyed, the attack on the Death Star has dealt a major blow to the Imperial war machine, in both resources and man power. But the victory doesn’t come without a cost. With the location of their hidden base revealed, the Alliance now faces the difficult task of relocating their main operations base to a new system.

To complicate matters, the Emperor, furious after losing his newest toy, orders the immediate destruction of all suspected rebel cells. The galaxy is suddenly a dangerous--and deadly--place for the Alliance and their supporters. Desperate to turn the Empire’s attention away from the Alliance, Senator Mon Montha turns to the daughter of an old friend, a down-on-her-luck Mandalorian mercenary with a grudge against the Empire.

The proposition is simple: assemble a group of “privateers” to raid key Imperial supply lines and attack major manufacturing facilities. The goal: draw the Empire’s attention away from Alliance activities while the Alliance regroups and searches for a new location for its hidden base. The reward: anything and everything they can bribe, lie, cheat, steal, and/or commandeer from the Empire. The risk: death (or wealth, if you happen to have a fear of money)...

I wouldn't mind rejoining and playing on this simm again. Only reason we closed it was lack of interaction.

Sample Bio:

Name: Alika Mharia Reau (Image)
Alias: Alicia Vh’Sahn
Nickname: Ali
Age: 28
Species: Human Mandalorian
Gender: Female
Place of Birth: Interstellar Space
Home Planet: Manda'yaim (Mandalore)
Height: 160cm (5'3")
Weight: 57.6kg (127)
Eye Color: Dark Brown
Hair Color: Black

Physical Description:
Alika is a short, striking, vivacious young woman with a toned, lithe feminine physique and a golden, sun-tanned complexion. Her face is square with a gently tapered chin and is dominated by her piercing brown eyes and full lipped Cupid’s bow mouth. Thin eyebrows set atop her chocolaty eyes taper off to either side of her head, while locks of short, raven hair frame her soft features, often slipping down to obscure her right eye. While considered average for a Hapan, she is still markedly more attractive than the average human female. Thus her good looks often draw excess attention from members of the opposite (and occasionally the same) sex while at bars, cantinas, and other such establishments when she’s not clad in her armor.

Marital Status: Single
Partner: N/A
Mother: Ruusaan Reau (Believed deceased)
Father: Unknown Hapan Mercenary
Adopted Uncle: Kal Skirata (Whereabouts unknown)
Siblings: None
Children: None

Personal History:
At the end of the Great Sith War, a small group of the remaining Sith married into one of the Mandalorian clans. While most of the pairings failed to produce force sensitive offspring, one such pairing did, resulting in a line of Force sensitive Mandalorians. The Sith teachings were passed down from generation to generation, slowly expanding and evolving as new techniques were discovered and the philosophical views of the Sith were distilled out by more practical Mandalorian ones. Alika is the last of that line.

Born to the Mandalorian Supercommando Ruusaan Reau shortly after the start of the Clone Wars, Alika was the result of a drunken one night stand with a Hapan mercenary. She spent her early years with her mother on Mandalore, living and working on a small family farm. There her mother taught her how to be a Mando’ade, how to fight, and how to disappear.

Her mother returned to being a bounty hunter when Alika was thirteen, taking her along to show her the ropes. Alika had caught on quickly, showing a high aptitude for the task. Nevertheless, she had a lot to learn. Shortly after Alika’s sixteenth birthday, the pair crossed paths with Darth Vader and a squad of Imperial Inquisitors on Ord Mantell. Vader sensed immediately that the two Mandalorians were Force sensitive—and therefore a threat—and dispatched the four Inquisitors to eliminate them.

The pair immediately went on the offensive, each slaying an attacker before Ruusaan led the remaining two away in a running, rooftop battle. At the same time, she instructed Alika—using a code-phrase—to retreat and regroup on Mandalore. Reluctantly, Alika heeded her mother’s orders and took off for the spaceport, though she feared she would never see her mother again.

It took Alika almost a year to make her way back to Mandalore, working as a hired gun on several freighters before finding one that made a stop on her home planet. She earned a decent amount of credits during her voyages and established several contacts that would serve her well in the coming years. Once planet side, she returned to the small farm where she grew up to await word from her mother.

Over the next two years, Alika worked a number of odd jobs around Keldabe (Mandalore's capital city) in addition to her work as a farm hand. During that time she also continued to expand and hone her combat skills, learning from the veteran soldiers, mercenaries, and bounty hunters that made up her neighbors, family friends, and employers. She quickly developed a reputation for her close-quarters and ranged combat skills.

By her twentieth birthday Alika had all but given up hope of seeing her mother again. Tired of hiding from the Empire, she signed on with a group of mercenaries lead by her longtime family friend and mentor Dozer Khan, aptly named Khan Security.

During her time with Khan Security, Alika learned that her mother's ship, the Ghost of Corellia, was still on Ord Mantell, in the Port Authority impound lot. Taking a leave of absence, she journeyed to Ord Mantell to recover the Ghost. After practically emptying her bank account to pay off the considerable amount of docking fees and late payment fines that had accrued over the years, she boarded the ship for the first time in almost six years.

Alika was surprised to find that the interior of the vessel was in pristine condition. There was no sign of the dust, dirt, or general deterioration she'd expected to find after six years of neglect. The mystery was quickly solved, however, as she was soon met by her mother's astromech droid, R3-C9. The droid, named Snitch, informed her that he'd been given instructions from her mother to maintain the ship until Alika came to claim it. Snitch also told her that her mother left her the ship, himself, and a dozen anonymous investment accounts worth over one million credits.

Suddenly wealthy beyond her wildest dreams, Alika went on a shopping spree, having the Ghost refit to better accommodate her life as a mercenary, upgrading her weapons and armor, and purchasing a modified Hapan Miy'til starfighter off the black market. And as quickly as the credits had come, they were gone. Admonished by Snitch, she returned to work with Khan Security.

About a year later, Khan Security was hired to guard a hanger on the planet Commenor. Alika was part of the three man team sent to fulfill the contract, along with Dozer Khan and his son, Baen. Believing the assignment to be little more than a baby-sitting run, Kahn had brought the young and less experienced Mandos along in an effort to encourage the budding romance between the two. The mission seemed to go as expected, the mere presence of the Mandos kept the common thieves and local riffraff away. The one pirate raid was decidedly one sided and did not end well for the pirates. It wasn't until the last day, as the transport they were hired to guard prepared to lift off, that the poodoo hit the fan.

A platoon of Imperial shocktroopers, supported by an entire company of stormtroopers, assualted the hanger. The Mandalorians fought valiantly, but were quickly driven back into the hanger and forced to take cover behind the transport ship's landing struts. After several minutes of intense fighting, the Mandos seemed to be gaining the upper hand, as the partially closed hanger doors formed a natural choke point that allowed them to concentrate their fire and thin out the troopers. This advantage proved to be short lived, however. As the transport ship made ready to launch the hanger doors opened fully, allowing the stormtroopers to take up flanking positions and catch the Mandos in crossfire.

The arrival of a squad of four AT-PTs further complicated matters. Realizing they were outmatched, Dozer tried to orchestrate a retreat, but it was too late. The AT-PTs unleashed a barrage of concussion grenades, catching the Mandalorians out in the open. The resulting explosion was devastating in the enclosed space of the hanger. Baen took a direct hit and died instantly, while Dozer and Alika were blown back several meters by the concussive shockwave. Alika landed in a heap on the transport's loading ramp as it closed, while Dozer was thrown into a retracting landing strut. Dazed, Alika struggled to her feet and stumbled over to a veiwport just in time watch helplessly as a shocktrooper rolled Dozer over and shot him pointblank in the faceplate. All she could do was scream and pound futilely on the transparisteel of the viewport before succumbing to her injuries and collapsing into a coma.

Alika awoke days later in a medical bay on a Rebel frigate. She was greeted by a young woman named Endira who explained where she was and how she got there. Endira thanked her for fulfilling Khan Security's contract and offered to pay her the agreed upon fee. Alika took the credits and returned to Keldabe.

Unable to bring herself to return to work at Kahn Security, Alika worked odd jobs around the system for the next several months. As the months passed, work became harder and harder to find as the Empire increased its strangle hold on the galaxy, until one day she found herself sitting alone in a cantina, low on credits, with no prospect of work in the foreseeable future.

Psychological Profile:
Alika has the very independent and tenacious personality characteristic of Mando’ade, which oftentimes comes across as cocky and arrogant. As a Mandalorian commando, she is somewhat of a loner by nature, usually keeping to herself. That said, when circumstances dictate, she knows how to take orders and is a team player most of the time, even when facing personality conflicts within a group. Her sarcastic sense of humor and bad temper have bought her nothing but trouble over the years, but her quick wit and fiery Mando spirit has allowed her to persevere. Strong willed and opinionated like any Mando’ade, Alika usually knows when it’s time to shut her trap, but won’t hesitate to say what’s on her mind when asked. Not one to mince words, she says what she means and means what she says.

Form of Dress:
When not wearing her gold and grey Mando Beskar'gam (Mandalorian Armor), the short Mandalorian prefers to dress in a trim, close cut green and black flightsuit and a matching bomber jacket bearing the Mando crest in crimson on the right shoulder and left breast. The jacket is made from heavy weight bantha hide leather and features several concealed pockets and a protective electro-mesh lining.

Items/Weapons of Choice:
Alika prefers a good blaster at her side to a knife any day, seeing metal blade weapons as crude, messy, and inefficient. Nonetheless, she understands the tactical value of a good blade, and thus keeps at least one somewhere on her person at all times. Alika typically carries a BlasTech DC-17 light repeating blaster pistol in a hip-slung, quick-draw holster and a Verpine shatter gun.

Besides her blaster, shatter gun, and vibroblade, Alika typically wears a pair of bandoliers stocked with munitions, grenades, and power packs, as well as a utility belt equipped with a few tools, some survival items, a 50m spool of liquid rope w/grappling hook, and whatever other items she may have stashed away at the time. She also carries a lightsaber on her belt, which most people presume is a trophy from one of her bounties.

Like all Mandalorians, Alika's armor contains a formidable arsenal. Her left wrist gauntlet houses a Czerka X3 miniature laser torch, a BlasTech Dur-24 wrist laser, and a Kelvarex Consolidated Arms MM12 micro rocket launcher. Her right wrist gauntlet houses a Mando Arms TX-3 gas powered dart launcher, a Czerka GP4 wrist-mount grapnel gun, and a 15cm retractable vibroblade. During a raid on an Imperial supply depot, she "acquired" a prototype jettrooper rocket pack. The rocket pack utilizes liquid tibanna gas for fuel and is equipped with a set of repulserjets. The repulserjets provide nearly unlimited flight range at a top speed of sixty kilometers per hour out to a distance of two planetary radii in a standard gravity well.

Alika owns an R3 series astromech droid from Industrial Automaton, R3-C9 (image). Named Snitch by Alika's mother, the droid's previous owner, the droid has received several upgrades from the stock model. These upgrades include stolen military grade espionage and combat programing, a duranium armored shell, a transparisteel head dome (upgraded from the stock plastex dome), an aftermarket repulserjet/hover rocket kit, a sophisticated maintenance and repair package, an upgraded astrogation buffer capable of storing ten hyperspace jump coordinates, a retractable destroyer droid repeating blaster cannon, and a MiniMag PTL missile launcher with a three torpedo magazine.

Skills, Interests, and Talents:
Alika is a skilled commando and budding Force wielder, thanks to her Mandalorian and Sith heritage and all the training she received growing up on Mandalore. She is versed in most aspects of warfare and guerilla tactics and trained to adapt to just about any situation she might come across. She is a crack shot and decent sniper, and is fully trained in wilderness and urban survival.

Her hobbies include hunting, bar fights, target practice, maintaining her kit, Sabacc, and any game of skill, chance, or risk that involves showing up arrogant, cocky, overconfident men. She also enjoys torturing guys that hit on her or try to pick her up at the bar or cantina, though she’ll never admit that it’s a hobby.

Ruusaan is responsible for many of the ship's numerous modifications, including the upgrades to the engines, weapons, shields, and armor. After recovering the vessel from the port authority impound on Ord Mantell, Alika had the ship further modified for use as part of the mercenary force she was a member of at the time. These modifications included converting the two main cargo holds into disguised hanger bays, the addition of the autocannon blasters for ground support missions, and the expansion of the passenger quarters.

Hmm, I can find every bio I ever wrote but not the one I was looking for.
It's not on the Dragon Squad forum anymore either.
But perhaps somewhere there is an archive of ancient posts where someone can help me dig up the bio of Luke Helios?

Much appreciated :-)

Luke: Some more bios would be great. You can post them in the OOC section of the Dragon's forum *cough* Foxy *cough*. I'm going try to get the intro plot started in the next day or so.

Amanda: How could we forget Tavlia? You sure you can't manage a post or two a week?

You going to be ok with a Sniper on board? With some piloting skills as well? Just looking over Wendo...

Bring back Tavlia? So very tempting.... PM me on what your thoughts are and how she'd fit in and we can chat. Obviously with me bringing Legacy here, I likely have the ability to put in some posts.

Here's Tav's bio, if you might recall....

I see no issues with a sniper. The Dragon's have always been a combined tactics unit. There'll be plenty of ground action, don't worry.
