Back on the Zaelous...
While the USS Zaelous was busy with repairs a shuttle craft approached bringing
aboard a new crew member. Inside the pilot opened hailing frequencies with the
Zaelous and introduced himself
"USS Zaelous, this is transporter shuttle 5 requesting permission to initiate
docking sequence"
From the other side a woman's voice replied “Affirmative transporter 5. You may
dock on shuttle bay 2. We have been waiting for you. Welcome aboard".
The comm. went off and the shuttle turned towards the direction shuttle bay.
"Initiating docking procedures." the soft female computer voice said.
"anh anh. No way. Computer, begin manual landing procedures. I'm landing this
bird all by my self. "Manual procedures not advisable. The odds of a
successfully manual landing procedures are..." the computer replied back but was
cut by the pilot. "Computer, I'm not going to discuss odds right now. Just want
to land this flying bathtub ok?"
He let a little smile escape from the corner of his mouth when he saw a few
extra lights blinking in his console. Then he set course to the docking bay and
increased impulse speed. "transporter 5, this is shuttle bay 2, you are
approaching too fast. Please reduce your speed" the officer's voice made it
self be heard through the comm. But the answer never made feedback. In fact the
only thing someone could hear was the computer voice "2 miles to touchdown."
From the Zaelous the officer on control room contacted the shuttle once again
"-transporter 5 is everything alright? Please reduce your speed.
-I hear you control. Don't worry; I'm not going to crash on my first day.
-Well, if you keep that speed you will... reduce the speed immediately pilot."
the officer behind the control room aboard the Zealous was starting to get a
little edgy about the stunt.
"1 mile to final touchdown. Reduce speed." the replicated soft female from the
computer warn the pilot. "Ok, Control room, get ready. Here I come!" From the
other side of the comm. the officer swearing was almost difficult to understand.
When the shuttle entered the docking bay everyone inside thought it was going to
destroy and with it half the Federation ship but that was not the case. The
shuttle made a sudden stop, the nose raised almost a 60 degrees followed by a smooth landing.
When the shuttle door opened, a young pilot of about 5'7 feet, dark brown hair, dark eyes and light tan skin pilot behind the shuttle helm, obviously an ensign due to the light grey uniform he was wearing, steped out side and see the control officer furiously walking towards him. "-What the hell do you think you're doing newbie?
-Newbie?" the ensign lifted his left eyebrow while thinking to himself
"-I don't know what kind of circus you have been living but in this ship, you leave the stunts for the pro's. You got that newbie?
-Yes Lieutenant." the pilot stud up straight before the lieutenant and prepared himself for the worse to come but something strange happened... The Lieutenant put his arm over the ensign and whispered "just between the two of us... how did you do that?" the ensign sigh in releave and with a smile on his face he said "we all must have our secrets, sir.
"-Alright, now get out of here. There is still many things for me to repair." the Lieutenant said looking at the surroundings.
"- She really took quite a hit. Uh...Sir... I was ordered to report directly to Lieutenant Vaskel as soon as I arrive. Do you know where I can find him?
-Well, try to ask the computer."
The turned around facing the control room after hearing is assistant screaming. Somehow a small fire had ignited in the room. Nothing the tow could not handle. "What have you done now?” he shouted to the man above on the cont. room. "I see you around newbie." and walked away leaving the ensign all by himself.
"I hope that newbie thing is not contagious or I will have the intire crew calling me that." he thought while going through the docking bay.
On the other side out the door people seemed to be so in a hurry that they even seamed not to see the ensign trying to ask for help. So, and with a touch at the board on the wall the young man asked the computer for the location of Lt. Vaskel "computer locate Lt. Vaskel. - Lt. Vaskel is currently in Engineering Room" the voice replied. He took a deep breath and started following the directions given from the computer towards the Engineering Room.

[Muzlok looked around the bridge. "Oswell...there appears to be reinforcements
to the Breen. Can you get this ships weapons up and running. Maybe we can help

are not....disturbed."]

Ensign Yunisca slowly glanced around to find a rope, she wasn't about to shoot an unconcious captain, even if he was an enemy. She wasn't seeing any rope and she didn't want to shoot the unconsious man, but she was running out of options. About that time she noticed that under the Captains Chair thier seemed to be a few wires taped. Carefully bending down to inspect the wires she noticed that they didn't seem to be attatched to any thing. Must be spares she thought as she carefully got them out. Slowly she tied the Breen Captain up before standing back up.

"Thier wasn't any rope, I did find some extra wires under his chair though. Might not be the greatest thing to tie him up with but it'll work for now. "

About that time she heard the com badge open up the line.

[Dropping his repeater and raising his rifle, Striker took aim and fired at the forcefield controls. The field dropped and the Starfleet Captain entered the cell and slapped a Veridium Patch on the Jem'Hadar. He then reached up and tapped his comm-badge. =/\= Striker to Oswell, Yunisca and Khan. We've freed the birds and are ready to fly. What's the situation? =/\=]

Glancing up to see wich of the other two would answer she noticed thier seemed to be some more Breen ships out there.

"Seems we've got company. Thiers more breen ships out thier then what thier was, someone needs to inform Captain Striker. I doubt were going to get off this ship any time soon."

slowly she glanced at the two in the bridge with her before glanceing out the view screen again. She hadn't been on the Zealous long enough to really meet any one but she hoped everyone would come out of this okey. Slowly she glanced at Muzlock before slightly turning her thoughts to the other part of the away team. This was likely to be a bad situation and she wondered how everyone with Strikers team was holding up. Striker seemed like he could handle this easly, but she wasn't so sure about the one they had called Murdock. She hoped Murdock would come out of this alright if anything just cause she would like to get to know him. She also hoped that Muzlock would come out of all this alright, she wasn't sure what to think of him, but at least he hadn't disdained her blood outright. Slowly cleared her head of all thoughts she waited as the other two answered Striker and to see how they were going to handle this new situation.

Murdock watched as Striker also entered the holding area, and found yet another prisoner that he had not initially seen. It was a Jem'Hadar, who was also imprisoned just like the others had been. That seemed kind of strange . . .

He listened as Striker then contacted the other portion of the away team, who then informed him that there were a lot more Breen ships that had entered the area. "When it rains, it pours . . ." Murdock mumbled to himself.

"What was that, Commander?" Striker asked.

"Oh, nothing," the Texan retorted.

He nodded in response when Striker suggested that they get out of there. Even the Avenger had confirmed, through Striker's communication, that there were a lot more of the Breen out there, and they were currently attacking the Defiant class ship.

Striker then suggested that they head up to the bridge of the Breen ship and see what they could do to lend the Avenger a hand. "You've got it," the helm officer replied, hoping that maybe someone thought about calling in the cavalry. They sure could use them about now . . .

Spade looked over again at the list of repairs that were still being done to the Zealous. He decided to contact both Lt. Vaskel and Lt. Broddy to see how they were doing with repairs.

"Lt. Spade to Lt. Vaskel and Lt. Broddy. How are we coming with repairs? I have a feeling we could be asked to assist the Avenger on her rescue mission."

Once inside the Engineering Room, the young navigator looked around and tryed to locate Ltn. Vaskel but the problem was, he didn't know who he was. So he asked the closest officer to point him out.
"Hi. Can you tell me where I can find Ltn. Vaskel?" He asked.
He rushed to the other side of the room to finally report of his arrival.
"Ltm. Vaskel? Ensign Ruben Santos reporting for duty, sir. I was suppose to report to Lieutenant Commander Murdock but since he is away with the captain, I was ordered to report to you, sir. Is there anything I can do?

Captain Azanialix Ja'arda clung onto the armrests of Jason Striker's Command Chair so she wouldn't be thrown out of it and onto the deck. The Avenger had been taking a few good hits from the Breen, but thankfully they had not engaged the one weapon that was the most dreaded - the one that could have drained all of the energy from the Avenger, ending the confrontation within seconds.

"Damage report!" she called out, hoping to get an update on the status of the ship.

"Shields are down to 89%," one officer replied.

Another one reported, "There's a plasma leak in Engineering."

Zania knew that this was a very serious situation. She was now in charge of the Avenger, and had to do everything she could to ensure the safety of the crew, and that the ship could get out in one piece. If she didn't, Jason would probably be pretty angry with her.

"Reroute power from life support in all non-essential areas to the shields, and get some additional crews to Engineering to help stop that plasma leak!" she ordered.

"Some of our Engineers were transferred to repair the Zealous," the one Vulcan noted evenly.

"Then get any available hands down there that may have the knowledge and ability to repair a plasma leak, no matter what department they may be from. We've got to get that under control before the ship explodes," she urged.

That's when it happened. She saw on the viewscreen that a tractor beam had appeared, drawing the lead Breen ship into the line of fire of another ship. "What was the source of that tractor beam?" she asked.

"It appears to be another Breen ship," Ensign Carver responded.

"Another ship?" she parroted. Could that be the one that Jason was still on, with the rest of the away team? They probably put themselves in danger from the other Breen by their actions, and she did notice that it wasn't moving.

"Let's move in behind that ship. If we're going to get the away team back, our best chance is to use it as cover when we drop our shields," Captain Ja'arda told everyone, hoping she was right. If she wasn't, she hoped that FOR1 could send back up before the situation got any worse.

"Ensign Greystone reporting for duty, sir."

Spade turned to see that Ensign Greystone had indeed come on to the Bridge. "Good. Glad you finally made it." he said offering his hand to Greystone with a small smile.
Tag: Greystone

"Well, as you probably could tell already, we're undergoing major repairs to the ship right now. Do you think you could help with repairs somehow?"
Tag: Greystone

Just then, a message came in from an officer at FOR1. Apparently the Avenger was in some trouble and in need of assistance. The officer from FOR1 was asking if the Zealous was fit to leave space dock and go assist Avenger. "I don't know if Zealous is quite ready yet to leave space dock. I'll find out and contact you when I do to let you know."
With that, Spade then tapped his combadge, "Lt. Spade to Lt. Vaskel and Lt. Broddy. The Avenger is in need of assist. Are repairs to the Zealous well enough that we could leave FOR1 to help them? We need to know ASAP!"

[Everyone moved in closer together forming a tight circle and waited to be transported back to the friendly starship.]

Ensign Yunisca carefully glanced over the captain and Murdock to see how badly they were hurt. They didn't seem to be hurt bad, and although she would never show it she was glad of that. Then she slowly glanced over the rescued prisoners. She noticed that they all had a patch on them. She listened as Captain Striker issued orders and waited till he was done talking.

"Excuse me Captain, but should a patch also be placed on this prisoner. It would seem logical to me that maybe he should be taken back for questioning. Although I know this is a rescue mission would it not be logical to find out why they took thier prisoners."

Ensign Yunisca slowly glanced at Captian Striker as she spoke, she hoped he wouldn't take her speaking up as questioning his discions or as an intrusion. Slowly she pondered to her self why it was she always had to point out the logic in everything. She knew most humans didn't appreciate it, and she knew klingon's tended to think her a fool for always defering to it. She couldn't help how she was raised. Carefully she schooled her face to its impassive look as she scaned everyone on the Breen bridge.

OFF: This message is being sent on behalf of Captain Sullivan.

ON:

=/\= “Sullivan to Broddy.” =/\=

Broddy finished sliding the cover plate onto the last of the transporter systems and wiped his hands before tapping his comm. badge. =/\= “Broddy here, what can I do for you Captain?” =/\=

=/\= “I’ve heard news that the Zealous may be called out to assist the Avenger so I’ll need you and the entire FOR1 engineering staff on the station pronto.” =/\=

Broddy looked down at his PADD. The ship was more or less fixed. The transporter overhaul was the last big item and barring some testing and tweaking, which he was sure Moya could accomplish, the ship was space worthy. Any additional repairs could be done off the station by their internal staff. He collected his thoughts before replying.

=/\= “Understood Captain, we’re mostly done here anyway. I’ll make sure everyone checks in with an Ops officer on the station.” =/\=

=/\= “And I’d like to see you in my office as soon as you get back, I need a full status report. Sullivan out.” =/\=

Broddy glanced over to his crew and nodded, “Well, you heard the Captain. Pack it up here. I don’t want any equipment left on this ship. Assume that the ship could be called out at any minute so hustle.”

The 4 engineers quickly began to pack up their tools and move it back towards the station. Meanwhile, Broddy sent out a PADD message to the crew chiefs in various parts of the station. He moved from work order to work order, quickly making sure the problems had been at least verified and marked. After getting through the items he helped round up the staff and in about an hour, the entire FOR1 crew had left the Zealous. After dropping several items off in main engineering, he headed up to the Captain’s Office.

“Have a seat Mr. Broddy.” Lily offered from behind her desk.

Simon nodded and sat down in one of the chairs, “Thank you Captain. I have the reports for you.”

She nodded and slipped them to the side, “I’ll review them later. I wanted to make you aware of the current situation.” She shifted her chair to reveal a message on one of the view monitors. “The Avenger has engaged a Breen attack force, we have been notified by StarFleet that they have dispatched fleet support and have posted the Zealous as a ready support craft.”

She leaned back in her chair, “Seems StarFleet got word of the repairs and they’re both pleased and concerned about the entire ordeal. Don’t worry about that, we’re… ehm, You aren’t in any trouble. In fact, you’ve performed better than most at HQ would have expected. Good job Lieutenant.”

Broddy smiled just a little, “Thank you Ma’am. I can’t take all the credit, my crew deserves some recognition.”

She nodded, “Of course, and we’ll take care of that in due time.” She cleared her throat, “So here is the deal. I need you to make sure that the Astraea is patched up and ready to go. StarFleet may have some work for us shortly. We will not be involved in the Breen encounter as HQ has assured me that it is being taken care of.”

He nodded, “When do we need to be ready to go?”

“Soon.” She replied.

OFF:
Here is the translation. As soon as Captain Sullivan is back and available from her LOA, FOR1 will be starting its new, non-joint mission. She should be back in action on Monday 3/20/06. All FOR1 Crew should move their characters to the station before that time to facilitate the launch of the new mission. I do not have the information on what will be done with the merged mailstrings, and I am not a mailstring administrator so please direct your questions to the appropriate parties for those answers. Personally, I would like to say thanks to everyone involved in the JP and best of luck with all your future missions.

"Thanks again Broddy. Hopefully we won't have to come straight back here needing more repairs after we assist the Avenger."

=/\= “You have nothing to worry about. Anything that myself or my crew took care of, Moya and her crew will be able to handle. You’re in the best of hands.” =/\=

"All right. Well, good luck lieutenant."

=/\= “You too Lieutenant, Broddy out.” =/\=

After that, Jake let out a huge sigh of relief. It was finally over. And with a few tweaking up to do, the Zealous was as good as new. 'With a lot of tweaking up to do probably' he thought.
He then tapped his combadge again, =/\="This Lt. Spade to entire Zealous crew. Report to your stations and begin preparations to leave space dock. If Lt. Vaskel would please come up to the Bridge we can leave soon on a mission to assist the Avenger. Spade out."=/\=

Spade turned to Ensign Greystone. "Ensign you can man the Operations station for now. Let FOR1 know that we are ready to leave."
He tapped his combadge once again, =/\="If there are any spare Tactical officers on board at the moment, we could use you up at the Bridge."=/\=

"Sir," said Ensign Greystone, "FOR1 says we're clear to go."
"Excellent. Disengage from the docking port."

Spade could feel the Zealous unattaching itself from FOR1. "All right, he said, "Helm, take us out on heading 127.3 mark 5."

Off: I hope its ok that I kinda took charge in this post. I have been a little impatient to get going. I've never captained the entire ship before. So if Vaskel would please reply I would greatly appreciate it.

Blake was meditating on one of the bio beds in sickbay when he got a ship wide call

=/\="This Lt. Spade to entire Zealous crew. Report to your stations and begin preparations to leave space dock. If Lt. Vaskel would please come up to the Bridge we can leave soon on a mission to assist the Avenger. Spade out."=/\=

Getting off of the bed he got sickbay prepped and ready for any wounded

=/\="This is Ensign Blake to Bridge"=/\= said Blake tapping his badge "Go ahead" came a reply =/\= "yes bridge sickbay is prepped and ready to receive wounded upon rendezvous with the Avenger" =/\= "okay sickbay we are reading you green light" came the reply =/\="okay bridge Blake out" =/\= said Blake closing the comm

He needed to do one more thing and finish his letter to his brother John

"computer continue recording message to Ensign John Hunter of the FOR1 base"

"beep" came the reply

"Well John so much for saying hello as you may have already heard the Zealous is pulling out from the base, guess I will talk to you later then don't forget to write back and to write to dad he had an emotional misfit he when heard that I too was going to be deployed"

"Well guess this is good bye see you on the other side, and as the vulcan tradition saying goes 'Live long and prosper' "

"computer end recording and send it to Ensign John Hunter when Zealous reaches 1 light year from the base"

"acknowledged" said the computer

Just then Blake received a comm link from the bridge

=/\= "go ahead"....=/\=

Jarrold slowly rose from the bio-bed that he was laying on. The others had already left to go help out with the Avenger but he still felt weak from his ordeal in the Captains mind. He had given a lot of energy to capture Wynseti in the Star Crystal and then turned around and given a lot of energy to the others to help them escape. Luckily Lieutenant Sullivan had stayed behind to help him out. Without her he would have been lost. He figured they were even for him helping her get rid of the alien presence that had taken over her mind earlier in the month.

Walking over to the other bio-beds he saw that Melissa was still there also. There was so much that he wanted to say to her and as he opened his mouth to profess his undying love the ship rocked violently and then shook. He could feel the inertial dampeners strain just a little but they quickly regained full strength and then returned to normal.

He looked down at the woman that he loved wanting to just blurt out what he wanted to say but he knew that now wasn't the time. Duty was once again calling and he would once again have to put off something that he found important to rush off to the rescue.

He slowly pulled his hand away and then rushed to the door. He knew that the Defiant Class starships had small bridges and would probably be full right now. There was somewhere else that he could be of more use, engineering. He wasn't completely familiar with the specs of this class of ship but he was trained in engineering and could definately be of help down there.

["Yes Ensign I think that's a good idea. Starfleet will want as much
information as they can get about their reasoning. I doubt that this was a
random attack of opportunity. I'm out of Veridium Patches so grab the
prisoner during transport and Avenger will beam him back along with you."]

Ensign Yunisca acknowlaged the Captain's order with a nod of his head and watched as he asked the rest of the away team to get ready. She knew it was only logical of them to be the decoy if they were going to give the Avenger time to drop shields to beam them over, and she could only hope that they weren't making a fools mistake in doing it. There was alot that could go wrong with this plan. Carefully keeping all emotions pushed down she scanned the away team again, and as she did both family sayings came to mind. Silently she said them both in her head, "Its a good day to die, Live long and prosper." It might be a good day to die but she hoped this away team made it out and that they could all live long and prosper.

Murdock followed the Avenger's captain up to the bridge of the Breen ship and took a look around when they arrived. He had managed to get the phaser rifles back in hand when they had left the brig area, and gripped it tightly, not sure what they were going to encounter once they had arrived.

Thankfully, no other Breen had showed up and challenged those on the bridge, and it was also kind of strange that Striker, himself, and the prisoners managed to get from the brig up to the bridge without encountering any resistance. It's almost as if the ship had been short staffed on purpose.

His eyes came to rest on Yunisca. Thankfully, she seemed to be okay, which was a huge relief. He had been pretty worried about her, since he hadn't really known her to have gone on any away missions before.

He heard the command for him to try and get the Breen ship going. He hadn't seen the Breen consoles before, but he certainly was going to give it his best shot, especially if the Avenger may have been in trouble. The helm officer swiftly moved over to one of the chairs and sat down, trying to figure out the controls.

Striker listened closely and quickly realized that they were in real trouble. "That's a self-destruct." This definately wasn't good.

Reaching up he tapped his comm-badge. "Striker to Avenger." he said. "We have a problem over here. This ship is about to self-destruct and while I don't speech Breen I don't think we have more than 2 minutes."

Captain Azanialix Ja'arda was elated when she had heard the voice of Jason Striker previously, but what he had just revealed was very troubling. If the Breen ship were to explode with the Avenger so close, there'd be no way possible for the shields to hold up against the explosion.

She thought about it for a moment, and then replied with the beginnings of an idea, "Understood, Jason. I might have an idea, but it's going to take some help."

"What do you have in mind?" he asked. "We'll have to do it quickly."

Zania leaned forward, hoping that this idea was something which would work. Otherwise, they could be in serious trouble.

"Charge up the weapons on that ship to full and load all torpedoes. We'll then beam all of you back here, and we engineer a reverse tractor beam to push the ship toward the other Breen vessels. Hopefully, they won't realize what's going on until it's too late and, by that time, we'll be out of the area," she explained.

The Betazoid paused for another moment, and then asked her good friend, "Do you think that'll work, Jason?"

"It'll be a heckuva explosion." he replied. "As soon as we beam over Avenger will have tear into maximum warp to avoid the blast."

Turning his head towards the others he gave Oswell and Muzlok a nodd. "We're going to blow this ship to high heaven and try to take as many of those others with us as we can." he said.

The two officers started to move, almost in unison as they made the required preparations.

Striker turned to Murdock. "Try to turn this ship towards the others. See if we can give Avenger a little help."

"I know, Jason, but it's probably our best chance at the moment," Azanialix replied before turning to issue a few orders to those on the Avenger in order to prepare them for what was about to come.

She tapped her Combadge and announced, "Captain Ja'arda to Engineering, I need you to somehow reverse the tractor beam in order to push a ship away from the Avenger, instead of pulling it toward us."

Jarrold stepped into the Avenger's Engine Room. It was a lot smaller than he was used to but then again he had never been a ship quite like this one. It was tiny but you could feel the power that followed through every conduit. It was like Avenger was an angry viking ready to lash out with the its full strength as any moment.

As he stepped into the Engine Room he heard the Zealous' commanding officer come in over the ships comm-system. Why was she in command, where was Avengers captain, he asked himself as he looked around the room. The ship was fairly barren, he did remember hearing something about most of the ships engineers being sent to help the Zealous in her repairs.

Reaching up he tapped his own comm-badge. "Captain this is Lieutenant Scott. I'll work on the tractors immediately." Quickly he moved over to the tractor controls and started to manipulate the graviton pulse so that it would work in reverse. "Done ma'am." he said.

The Betazoid was thankful to hear the voice of Jarrold Scott. It was good that he was up and around, especially after how he had helped with the situation that had taken place within her mind. "Good work, Lieutenant! Any chance you could also try and figure out how to speed up the transport process? It'll take two beam ups to get everyone off that ship, and we can't have the shields down for more than 20 seconds, or the other Breen ships are going to take advantage of it."

Jarrold curled his lips slightly. This reminded him exactly of something that had happened on the USS Trailblazer. He had been told that once the shields were lowered he had 30 seconds to beam up over 60 people with 2 transporters. He knew exactly what he was going to do.

Working quickly he started typing in commands and then pointed one of the few engineers present to monitor the console.

Without another word he took off running out of engineering and towards the transporter room "I need 1 minute." he said as he tore open the control panel. "I'm going to disable the pattern buffers on the cargo transporter and turn up the matter gain.

We'll have to lock them in a continual loop and it'll take a few minutes to reintegrate their patterns but at least we'll get them out of there."

He had worked during the entire time he was explaining it and before he realized it he was done. "You can drop the shields and beam them in anytime." he said.

"Good work, Jarrold! Once this is over with, and we're back on the Zealous, I owe you a drink," Zania told him, the thrill at just what he had done very evident within the sound of her voice.

Turning to the others, she ordered, "Engage the tractor beam now. Once we have them on board, disengage, raise the cloak, and get us out of here at maximum warp."

She then tapped her Combadge and said, "Standby, Jason. We've got stuff worked out, and we're starting to push that ship toward the others. We're going to beam you off in just a few seconds, and then get the Avenger to safety before the ship self-destructs."

Jason tapped his own comm-badge to reply "Gotcha Z, we're ready to go when you're ready to pick us up." he said. With that he moved closer to Yunisca and the now freed prisoners, the Jem'Hadar that they had found in the cell and the Breen Captain. He then motioned for the others to join them.

"It's time to go." Once everyone else was closer together he tapped his comm-badge again. "We're ready to go. Energize."

Murdock got up from the chair and moved over to join the others. He had a lot of regrets over the whole situation, and even what had happened on that one station. Plus, he had still wanted to talk to the Avenger's Captain, since he seemed to have been upset with Murdock with what had happened in the station's office.

He glanced over at Yunisca, just to make sure that she was still okay, and then heard a familiar sound as a shimmer of light embraced him . . .

"We got them Captain." Jarrold said as he finished moving his hands over the Transporters controls and then checked out their readings. It was going to take a few minutes to reconstruct their patterns but they were all definately there, well there and also stored in the back up buffers down in the cargo bay. There had been a tight spot where it looked like there wasn't going to be enough room in the buffers for all the patterns but he had done it.

Actually is wasn't that hard. He simply had to shunt part of the matter to the cargo transporters. The problem was that he would now have to transfer the patterns back to the main transporters since the cargo units were only capable of reconstituting matter at a molecular level and not the quantum level that was needed to reintegrate living patterns.

"I suggest we get the heck out of here ma'am. I'll start working on pulling them out of the transporter right away."

Captain Ja'arda was tempted to breathe a sigh of relief, but held back at the moment. Although the away team was back, they still weren't out of danger. "Understood, and good work!"

Focusing her attention on those on the Bridge, she ordered, "Raise the cloak. Helm, get us out of here at maximum Warp, any heading." She didn't know how much time was left before the Breen ship exploded, but she certainly didn't want to stick around and find out the hard way.

No sooner did the Avenger begin to make the jump into Warp, she could feel the Defiant-class ship shake a bit. "What was that?"

"The Breen ship exploded, Captain," Ensign Carver replied.

"It's over then," she noted somberly, hating having to have done something that drastic, but realizing that the Breen had left them with no other choice.

OFF: Vaskel has had some email problems, and is now catching up on the posts. He will try to post as soon as possible.
And also my apologies for my absense.

On:

Luke checked the weaponsystems, torpedo launchers were broken, and disrupters
were low on power, he might get 3 or 4 shots out of them.
He was still curious about what a Breen would look like but his curiousity would have to wait. There was work to be done first. A moment later Captain Striker and Murdock arrived on the Bridge.
Murdock sat at helm and tried to manouver the ship so that is was helpfull for the Avenger and also for them, since they were sitting in a timebomb...
But after a time came the welcoming sound and blue light of the Transporter, and they were all safe once more...

Moya watched Vaskel as he thought about her responses. He seemed to have gone into a deep meditation. She then heard Broddy call out that repairs were mostly done. She thought to herself, ~Damn that man for showing me up! Had it not been for this Vulcan, I would have received the credit for the hard work I would have done. Broddy is good but I would have liked to have made sure all was well.~

She then heard, =/\="This Lt. Spade to entire Zealous crew. Report to your stations and begin preparations to leave space dock. If Lt. Vaskel would please come up to the Bridge we can leave soon on a mission to assist the Avenger. Spade out."=/\=

Moya tapped her commbadge after looking at Vaskel and his apparent lack of consciousness. =/\= This is Lieutenant Moya. I am on my way to the bridge. Lieutenant Vaskel appears to be unavailable. =/\=

Moya looked at Spade skeptically when she arrived on the bridge. He was too young to run a starship. She asked, "What do you need? Why have we left? We are not in pristine condition, you realize."

=/\= This is Lieutenant Moya. I am on my way to the bridge. Lieutenant Vaskel appears to be unavailable. =/\= Moya had broke the connection before Spade could reply to this. His mouth hung open for a moment. He was more than a little irked at her.

A minute later he heard the door hiss open behind and turned to see Moya with a skeptical look on her face. "What do you need? Why have we left? We are not in pristine condition, you realize." she said.

Spade was now more than a little irked at her. "We have just been requested to aid the Avenger. Apparently they are in some sort of trouble right now and could use our help as soon as possible." he said this as calmly as possible. It wasn't an easy task.

"I don't really 'need' you up here at all Lieutenant." he said to her with perhaps more vehemence than was necessary. "I asked for Lt. Vaskel to be up here because he is the highest ranking officer aboard this ship right now. So he should probably be taking charge of the ship right now for this mission. But now you tell me that he is 'unavailable' right now for some reason? So I guess that leaves me to take charge of the ship because I am now the highest ranking officer that is currently 'available'.

"I know the Zealous isn't in pristine condition," he said more calmly now, "But we need to do what we can to help the Anvenger. What I need you to do, is help keep the Zealous in as pristine condition as possible. I know you can do that. You are a more than capable officer."

He stopped now, glad that he had vented off some of the anger and frustration he was feeling. He had never taken charge on an entire starship before. And he didn't feel that he was capable of doing a good job. He could tell that Moya didn't think so either. Which frustrated him even more. It wasn't like wanted to take charge. But situations and coinsidence had thrust him into this position.

He turned back around to face the viewer. "Helm, take us on a heading that the Avenger last took. Warp 7."

At first, she thought about maybe something light and simple like a tea, but then decided against it. She realized, now more than ever, that life was very precious and there were going to be times where she had to live it to the fullest. "I'll have a Chocolate Passion Punch, please."

Jason smiled really big. He knew that it was going to be something with chocolate in it. Walking over to the replicator he looked at the machine and spoke "Chocolate Passion Punch, a Raktajino with Jacarine Peel and plunjo berry tart." he instructed. He still didn't understand where his fondness for the Klingon Coffee come from but he could never get enough of it. Seconds later his order materialized and he took the drinks and food over to the couch and sat down across from his dear, dear friend. "Here you are." he said as he handed her the drink.

She accepted the drink and took a sip, relishing the smooth, silky flavor as it danced upon her tongue and then trickled down her throat. She swallowed, and then set the drink down on the coffee table. "Thank you. I never thought that a drink could taste so divine," she remarked.

After spending another moment savoring the flavor, she turned her attention to her friend. He had gotten a few interesting garnishes for his Klingon coffee. "How's your drink? I may have to try that combination sometime."

"It's not bad." he said as he sipped his coffee and then placed the steaming mug on the coffee table. "Something I picked up during the war. The Republic had a stop over at DS9 and her commanding officer Ben Sisko introduced me to it. Almost had a heart attack the first time I tried it though. Klingons drink their coffee strong." he laughed.

He let out a sigh "So how are you Zania? You went through quite an ordeal and frankly I was a little scared... no I was a lot scared. I thought I was going to lose you." He tried his best not to look directly into her eyes. He knew that she was Betazoid and would be able to pick up on his thought and emotions but he didn't have to show them so blatantly. It's okay, Jason," Azanialix told him gently, hoping that he wouldn't hold back with his emotions or feelings. Then again, even she would be a fool if she didn't try to hold back with what she was feeling, or the horrific memories of what happened.

But, if she couldn't even detail what had happened to one of her closest friends, who else could she talk to about it?

"I was frightened throughout all of it as well. I guess it's only natural for me to have been so scared, since I didn't want to die, but I was put in a situation where there was no other alternative . . ." she trailed off, trying to avoid the details of her drowning for the moment.

Although she did try to not talk about it, the memories of what took place flashed within her mind, causing her to almost physically jump where she was sitting.

Jason placed could see that she was anxious about what had happened. He slowly placed a hand of top of hers and looked her in the eye, hoping that his implant didn't freak her out. Then again she had known him for a while so she was probably used to it by now though honestly at times he still wasn't quite used to it. "Look there's something that I need to talk to you about and if I don't get it off my chest now I never will."

Zania was comforted by the gentle touch of Jason's hands upon hers, and quickly pushed her own horrible memory out of her mind when she heard him mention that he wanted to talk about something. It sounded pretty serious, so she wanted go give him her undivided attention.

She gazed deeply into his eyes, not phased at all by the implant. "What's wrong, Jason? What do you want to talk about?"

Jason took a deep breath. "You know..." he paused for a moment. "I've never really been nervous or held back anything in my life. I've taken down and even killed a lot during my years. I've faced Cardassians and Klingons, the Breen and countless Jem'Hadar but I have never been as nervous about anything."

He took another deep breath and then went for it. "Azanialix Ja'arda, I love you. I have been in love with you since the first time I laid eyes on you..." with that he leaned in and gently touched his lips to hers. Had the Betazoid not been through what she had, she probably would have pulled away a bit once Jason had dropped the bombshell, professing his feelings and then kissing her. Right now, she craved the touch, especially with his lips placed against hers.

She returned the kiss, drawing her arms around Jason as she embraced him. She had known that he had feelings for her, but didn't know that they had been this strong until now . . .

He was slightly surprised that she hadn't pulled away. Did this mean that she felt the same about him. Did she love him too.

At this moment it didn't matter to him. All he wanted was to be near her. To kiss her... to hold her and never let go.

Suddenly the comm-chirped =/\= Captain Striker. The Zealous has just dropped out of warp and are requesting to speak to Captain Ja'arda. =/\= Lieutenant Ridika Meyers said from Ops. Jason pulled back and sighed. =/\= Thank you Lieutenant. Inform them that she will be contacting them immediately. =/\= he tapped his comm-badge off and looked her in those beautiful eyes.

"Looks like duty calls once again."

"It would seem so," she noted, somewhat disappointed that this all had to end so soon. She hadn't spent much time with Jason at all, and would have loved to have spent more time with him. She would have loved to have been able to tell him everything of what had taken place . . .

The problem was that they were both Starfleet officers, and Captains of their own starships. When Starfleet gave an order, they had to obey, even if it meant that it could potentially be months, or even years, before they could see each other again.

"Jason, will we ever see each other again?" she asked, almost as if afraid to let him go.

"Of course we will." he said. "I just have this feeling that we will be seeing each other soon.... really soon." With that he stood up slowly and took her hand. "We better call the Zealous back before they send over a striker team." he joked.
