Still Active?

Hey, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place for this.

I applied for a position on one of the PBeM Sims a few days ago but have heard nothing further for a while now. Looking around the boards, I'm wondering if the SLA as a whole is still active? I'd really like to get started on a Sim if possible.

Welcome, Illeana. I'm a regular simmer here. Not sure what the delay is in getting back to you, but it'll be soon

SLA is active, though we're still in the summer slow down. If you click the View New Posts link regularly you will see there are Stargate, Star Trek, FIrefly and Torchwood sims active. Things just slow down post-wise in summer.

Also keep in mind that for many of these sims (barring the MB ones, of course), forum presence is not an indicator of anything. They could be bustling with activity and yet not touch the boards in months.

The forums aren't a good reflection of what's going on with the SLA sims as a whole - a lot of storytelling goes on behind the scenes for a lot of them. However, I do understand it can make one feel as though things are slower than slow around here.. *grins*

Of course not. *grins* We've had folk who are long time members seriously wonder on occasion if all is well with some of the sims.

Another question...

I've just filled out an application for the USS Cadaceus but when I try to submit, the form doesn't send. I was then going to do it via the SLA website but there's no listing for the Cadaceus on the Preferred Sim?

I have no experience with the web application process. But Tavey can put in contact with any one of our hosts directly. A PM to the host of the sim you want to join should be all you need.

Hiya - yeah.. the application software is being looked at currently. It was written some years ago and has reached the end of it's life.

I suggest getting in contact with our Recruiting chair, KerriganMorgan. recruiting at slasims dot com will get through.

I also would like to echo that "forums posting is not an indication of activity" My sim has it's own forum, and has had it since before we joined the SLA. I made a half-hearted attempt to migrate, but old habits die hard.

We poke in on here from time to time, though, just to let people know we're still alive.
