Waverly, you may like this one:

For some individuals, retreating into a fantasy world provides a necessary escape from the rigors of everyday life and responsibilities. When it's taken too far, that prson can not only lose touch with reality, but can endanger themselves or others. They would have difficulty being able to tell the difference between fantasy and reality.

Amina Jalovel is on the edge of having that happen to her. Events from her past, as well as her intense shyness, has made her unwilling to interact with most of the Zealous crew, with the exception of a few individuals.

As such, she feels alone and neglected, completely unaware that all she would have to do is turn to any officer aboard the ship, who would be more than willing to lend a hand.

When a crew member dies, Amina feels responsible since she was the last to treat him/her. Unable to deal with the guilt, she fully immerses herself into her fantasy - both within her mind, as well as on the Holodeck.

A few of the crew members try to talk to her, to get her to open up and help her through the pain, but she just further retreats into her shell. Murdock goes to see her, hoping the strength of their relationship can help pull her through. Jake and Ti'ana also go along for moral support.

Can they manage to get Amina to break through the barriers her past has created, which is impairing her social interaction with the other crew? Will they be able to make her see that the death was no fault of her own? What if they aren't successful? Will Amina be able to pull out of her fantasy and rejoin the realm of reality once again? Will her career survive? Would she become so depressed that she might try to take her own life?

What would happen if the Holodeck malfunctioned, turning the fantasy into a deadly nightmare?

Basic Instincts

Its been a few months since Jake’s fall from grace, and after much deliberation he realises that he might need help to combat the growing instinctual feelings that he knows will on day take over from the level headed reasoning of humanity. So in desperation he contacts his old Academy lecturer Dr Leser Crest, a renowned geneticist and owner of one or two Noble prizes in that field for genetic research. So, along with a small contingent of Zealous crew (Robinson, Luke and who ever else thinks they want in on this night mare) head of the world of Gnisnal, a planet lost in the constant light of the red giant Ulysses to the coordinates dictated by Dr Crest.
Upon the shuttles report they have reached the coordinates all telemetry from the shuttle is lost. After a day of nothing from the shuttle the Zealous heads out to find out what has happen, hoping for a simple communications problem but planning for a full scale war in the process of giving birth to a holocaust.
When the Zealous makes orbit they find the shuttle sitting quietly on a ferrocrete landing pad deep within the equatorial jungles of Gnisnal, adjacent to a large bunker like facility built into the jungle setting.
The away team is greeted by Lesser crest and the shuttle crew, all expect Sjet and one other. The good Doctor explains that one or two of his experiments have gone wrong, escaping their containment and breeching the facility and breaking out into the jungle.
At this point fifty armed mercenaries loaded with the latest weaponry and armour appear out of the surrounding jungle.
What Crest wants is simple.
Time to complete his research.
And test subjects for his serum.
He has been successful in creating a genetic retro virus, which increase the strength and efficiency of every single organ and bodily function by a factor of infinity. The down side is that the subjects higher mental processes (Reason and sentient thought) are squashed beneath the rush of primal instincts. That’s what he wanted Jake for, to try and copy the control program designed by the Iconian’s to control their nano augmented creatures.
The Construct.
His failure accidentally allowed a group of Tridents, bio engineered primates now stronger and more vicious, to escape. Already the virus has begun to infect the local ‘villages’ of native tree dwelling primates turning docile monkey like creatures (cute with intentions to nauseate) into Trident’s (killers with intentions to mutilate).
Can the crew rescue the away team now being held captive by the modern day Doctor Moreau? Can they find Sjet and the missing crewmember now lost in the jungle?
But more importantly, can they do it before the Trident super virus infects everyone?

Past Transgressions

The Zealous has been disabled, atmosphere leaks from the hull in various states of decompression as hull plates pop off like seeds from an over ripened fruit.
The crew awaken to a grime fact, the Captains been kid napped by the True Federation, including various other members of the crew.
Why/
Well the TTF are acting solely as middle men in this case, keeping a few of the captives but handing over the Captain to the Cyndrielians cultists of the Hands of Sathir for a date with a stone slab, a holy date with the prophesised birth of their messiah and a large sharp knife.

Why?
To explain this we need two forms of history….

The first one, taken from the Holy texts of the Hands of Sathir say that a temple virgin was kidnapped, raped, indoctrinated into the beliefs of this unholy clan and swore destruction to this order and that every female in her line would continue this oath, even to the point of killing her husband and her twined son.

Second version, take from the ancient texts of the Ja’arda line. They rescued a young woman from a temple where she would have been sacrificed to the gods; she is then wed and had twins (boy and girl). After a botched abduction of this 'captive woman' by this Hands of Sathir who in their attempt killed the woman’s husband and the young male twin, she swore vengeance against this order and in doing so pledged all women in her line to do the same.

(Which one sounds right kids?)

Now that was hundreds of years ago and the Ja’arda line has forgotten this oath against the dangerous religious zealots who fled from Betazed with the Cyndrielians, but they have not forgotten.
When the date of a ancient prophesy fast approaching (The dawn of the tenth millennium in the Betazoid calendar) they need the blood of the last in the female line of Ja’arda (To which point the captain should say “Who? Me?”). They believe in doing this not only will their messiah be born but they will also be doing this tortured soul a favour by setting it free, so that it may sing with joy and be accepted to heaven.
Pity the body doesn’t see it like that really.
So they contact the True Federation (This organisation want Sjet for reasons of their own, and want to see the galaxy swept clean of all half breed species: Trill, half humans, half Vulcan’s and so forth) and ask them to acquire the Ja’arda for their ceremony and that they may also take who ever they desire off the Zealous as well but the Captain must not be harmed.
So with the ship reeling from the attack, with crew plundered can the remainder save the captured crew from the TTF who are not known for their kindness and the Captain, how has a hot date with a bloody destiny?

Here's one for a Holodeck adventure!

Alexandra Cross is a street savvy detective with the Metro Police force. She has been on the job for 5 years, and has quickly risen through the ranks, although a few of her fellow officers are resentful of her success.

During her time on the force, she has crossed paths with Timothy James Anderson, better known as TJ, one of the many FBI agents assigned to work within the city. When the sparks fly between them, especially when they argue and fight, it becomes obvious that there is a strong possibility of a future romantic relationship between them. They just don't want to admit to it yet, or are too blind to see the truth.

The problem they have to contend with are the criminal masterminds, who seek to dominate and create chaos within the city. Cross and Anderson are involved in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse with these underworld operatives, who protect themselves by having underlings do all of their dirty work.

This Holodeck adventure, known as Double Crossed, has become a favorite of the Captain's. It's a mix of intrigue, political struggles, danger, and heroism, set in the late 1980s before the end of the Cold War.

Any male character could take on the roll of TJ, although if it's someone who's romantically linked to the person taking on the roll of Cross, it would work even better. Plus, there's plenty of opportunity for someone to create supporting characters who would be involved throughout the adventure!

Jake- Any news on the terrorist yet?

Lab Tech- Securities still trying to a get a bead in him, could be anyone…you don’t think they destroyed Mars just to get to us? I mean we don’t have any enemies that determined to stop us.

Jake- Maybe we made a new enemy today…

Lab Tech- The whole of mars…I mean we haven’t the resource to fight a war, we haven’t got an army!

Jake- We don’t need an army, we have the souls of men and woman. We have the first line of troops. Soldiers for an invisible war.

A failure to take action in the past comes back to haunt Captain Ja'arda when the Borg return to attack the Zealous. What isn't clear is why they have returned, and specifically targeted the crew of the Prometheus-class vessel. Unfortunately, they do not have to wait too long to find out why.

After a fierce battle, with the crew defending the Zealous, the Borg depart. There are many injuries, but no casualties. One crew member, however, was captured in the melee: Alex Ducane.

What many don't understand is why the Borg would specifically try to kidnap him. Captain Ja'arda is the only one who has a very good theory, based on something he had told her in the past under strict confidence. When Zania's aunt, Isabeau, was aboard the Zealous, she probably read his mind and learned the truth for herself. That is possibly the reason why they specifically wanted him.

Unfortunately, for the Zealous Captain, she is held bound by a promise not to reveal to anyone what she had learned about Alex Ducane. Still, she knows that if they do not get him back before the Borg can assimilate him, they will incorporate his knowledge into their Collective, and that will give the Borg information which they should not yet possess - information that could lead to the dessimation and destruction of the Federation.

The Captain wrestles with her conscience over this, knowing that they have a potentially dangerous problem on their hands if she does not perform the crew, so they can act decisively. How can she impress upon her staff the idea that it is essential to get Alex Ducane back, but without revealing too much? Claiming that certain things are classified might raise suspicion, as well as reluctance by her crew to risk their lives by saving one individual.

Reaching a tough decision, Captain Ja'arda decides to confide in a few select crew members, the highest ranking of her senior staff, swearing them to secrecy. She may be betraying Alex's trust but, in doing so, hopefully saving his life and the Federation as well. With any luck, he would understand and not be upset. The rift between her and Jake Sjet was bad enough, so she certainly didn't need any more enemies aboard the Zealous.

After establishing a plan of action for rescuing Alex Ducane, the Zealous sets out in pursuit of the Borg ship. When they get within sensor range, the Borg cube reverses course to intercept the Zealous. Apparently, they are not that willing to give up their prisoner without a fight.

When communications are opened, the Zealous crew is stunned by what they see. Alex Ducane addresses the crew, ordering them to stand down and prepare to be assimilated. No Borg implants are outwardly visible, which makes it apparent that the Borg used the same technology on him as they had with Zania's aunt.

Isabeau, in fact, can be seen standing right behind Alex with a smirk on her face. She seems confident, almst as if she knows that she has won.

Captain Ja'arda knows that if they do not rescue Alex, and perhaps find some way to purge the Borg of the knowledge they may have gained from him, the Borg will become far more powerful than they ever were. Wolf 359 would seem like a picnic compared to the devastation they would be capable of - advanced weapons, shielding, transporters, and even temporal devices so they could alter the course of history.

From what is recalled about the Borg, they would need to enter a regenerative period within a short amount of time, which could give the Zealous crew the break that they need. They allow the Borg cube to pass, but they still follow it from a distance - just outside of sensor range. Sure enough, they manage to catch up with the cube, and power output is minima.

An away team is assembled to try and take advantage of the situation, hoping that they will be able to rescue Alex in what may be their only shot. Beaming over, they indeed discover that the Borg are regenerating, giving them a chance to move freely about the Borg ship. Using tricorders, they scan the area and detect Ducane's bio-pattern.

It doesn't take long for the crew to find him, and they discover that he is awake, not in a regenerative outcove like the other Borg. Alex, in fact, seems overjoyed to see the rescue team. He explains that this assimilation feels like there is another ego within his mind. When the Borg are regenerating, the real Alex Ducane can take over for a while. When they are not in that cycle, Alex's ego is pushed to the back and all he can do is helplessly observe.

One of the crew members immediately asks if the same is true for Isabeau, but Alex informs them otherwise. Isabeau does not need regeneration, but her assimilation process was complete. The Borg Queen has complete control over her. Alex hasn't reached that point yet, but is just a step away. Once the Borg implant a few more components into his body, it would complete the process, and the Borg would gain all of his knowledge.

In his relatively short time among the Borg, Alex has learned a lot about the new assimilation process. It seems that, once completed, there is no way of restoring the individual to what they once were. Any attempt to do so, or completely sever the connection to the Collective, would result in the death of that individual.

Additionally, Alex knows that, if the away team beams him back, the Borg will come out of regneration and destroy the Zealous. He begs the away team to inform the Captain that she has to destroy the Borg cube, with him along with it.

Not wanting to lose Alex, like she lost her aunt, Captain Ja'arda refuses and orders the away team to beam back immediately with Alex. She is certain that, with a bit of effort, they can find a way to free Alex of the Borg implants he already has within him, and without claiming his life. She isn't about to give up on him and make the same mistake of giving in, just like she had done with Jake Sjet.

Once they beam Alex back to the Zealous, can the crew survive another onslaught from the Borg cube? Can they control Alex so he doesn't sabotage the ship, while trying to sever his link to the Borg? More importantly, can they sever that link without killing him? What knowledge has the Borg gained from Alex, if any? Also, how exactly did the Borg come across these new types of implants, which they used for assimilating Isabeau and Alex?

Now *that* is amazing. It provides so much scope for the entire crew, lots of adventure... and _maybe_ we could even use our ship's "Multi-Vector Assault Mode", which I don't think has been used yet in a plot line.

Seriously, there's so much scope for character development in this, with the Captain's Aunt, Alex's past, the crew on a rescue mission, tactical manouvres (helm/tactical), borg invasion (security), removal of implants (medical/science), intelligence of the Borg's last whereabouts (intel)

The inhabitants of the planet Argo consist of a species which, when their existance was threatened, created a serum which allowed them to live deep in the planet's vast oceans. The last known contact with the Argosians came from the USS Enterprise, commanded by Captain James T. Kirk.

Based on the events during the encounter, along with the isolationist tendencies of the Argosians, it was decided that Argo would not be a candidate for admission into the Federation. Additionally, further visits to the planet would be forbidden, due to the inherent mistrust most Argosians bear toward "air-breathers," as they called them.

That was over a century ago.

In the current era, the planet Argo has become largely forgotten. Many are unsure why it even appears on astrometric charts.

The Zealous, unfortunately, has some more immediate concerns. They have been engaged in a cat-and-mouse chase across the galaxy with a True Federation ship, believed to be carrying some of the key leaders of the organization. If the Zealous crew can apprehend them, it could be a significant breakthrough in weakening, if not destroying the movement that is based on prejudice.

Their encounter, without realizing it, brings them very close to Argo, where several other True Federation ships lie in wait, with a trap already set.

The Zealous flies through a small field of what they think is debris. Almost immediately, sensors indicate that organic material has attached to the hull of the ship. Readings indicate that, if action isn't taken, the organisms would begin to slowly eat through the hull of the Zealous.

The True Federation ship seemingly disappears from scanners, but the Zealous crew is unable to rest. Although Jake is still a civilian, Zania asks him if he would accompany her in the investigation of the organisms. She makes her request for two reasons: 1) she wants to show Jake that she still trusts him, and thinks that he is important to the ship; 2) due to the background and experience, it is likely that if Jake can't recognize the creatures, Valron will.

He reluctantly agrees, and they both don Standard Extravehicular Work Garments (SEWG), a version of the EVA with more protection, but not quite as much as the OSG (Orbital Skydiving Garment). Using the built-in magnetic boots, they walk along the hull of the Zealous until they find the first organism. After an hour of taking various readings on the organisms and the hull, the True Federation ship returns, and they brought company. They immediately fire on the Zealous, rocking the ship.

The Captain knows that there would be no way she and Jake could return to the airlock in time. The only hope for the Zealous, at the moment, is to make a jump to Warp speed. If they were still attached to the hull, when that were to happen, she and Jake would probably be killed by the change in velocity.

Unfortunately, there is no other choice. She orders Jake to turn off the magnetic boots, allowing them to drift away from the Zealous, and then orders the Zealous crew to get to safety. They are reluctant to leave them, but they also know that they would likely be destroyed if they stayed.

For Jake and the Captain, they now have moments to prepare before the gravity of Argo pulls them into the planet's atmosphere. Zania instructs Jake on what to do, and they make the necessary adjustments. Re-entry into a planet's atmosphere with a SEWG is tricky. The wrong move, and they could be vaporized.

After the preparation, the re-entry proceeds without a problem. They both manage to survive and achieve freefall. They have to make one more adjustment, and hope that the systems on the SEWGs hold out. Thankfully, the planet is mainly water, so an ocean landing can help cushion the impact.

About 10 seconds before splashdown, they change positions to where they would hit feet first, and activate a Subspace Transciever Assembly (STA), which they adapted to serve as a make-shift forcefield around their suits. The Captain's STA fails after 6 seconds, so she hits the water a lot harder than Jake.

Rendered unconscious, her SEWG begins to sink into the depths. A very tiny trickle of bubbles rise to the surface, indicating that her suit has developed a very minor leak.

Did Jake remain conscious after impact? Will he realize the danger to the Captain and, more importantly, make an effort to safe her, despite their differences? Can they survive an encounter with the planet's residents, who hate air-breathers? What were to happen if the Argosians attempt to do the same thing to Zania and Jake, as they did with Kirk and Spock?

Also, what if the True Federation goes down to the planet to try and recover Zania and Jake? Would they be successful in kidnapping them? Or would the Argosians stop them in order to keep the Captain and Jake their prisoners?

And what of the Zealous? Can they get rid of the organisms before they eat away at the hull of the ship? If they return, could they withstand a True Federation onslaught from several ships, and still manage to rescue Zania and Jake?
