That one sounds very interesting, but I haven't seen it just yet.

Two other movies I would love to see, but I haven't gotten around to the theater yet, are Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

I saw an ad for the Thunderbirds movie this morning. It looked like they did a great lot of work trying to keep the look of the series. They chose actors who looked like the puppets, and coached them in the "wooden" movements and speech used in the series. The cars, thunderbird machines, buildings, even the explosions look the same. It might end up pretty good.

Really? Wow! I remember running across that series every once in the while when flipping through the networks. Usually, it was on the Sci Fi Channel, and extremely early in the morning.

Thuderbirds was created over here in the UK, I still remeber seeing the orginal serise as a small kid. Then there was Cap Scarlet and whole lot of others. I never really like any of them.

I haven't gotten out much to the movie theaters, but the last movie that I saw (which I think is the best, so far) is X-Men 2. I loved the special effects with Nightcrawler, plus the foreshadowing at the end. It's a perfect set-up for the next movie!

That was a good one! I cried at the end when the Professor was talking to Scott and Logan about the sacrifice made by a fellow X-Men.

She'll be back....

Postby Jake Sjet » Wed Aug 06, 2003 5:13 pm

She will be back.
See her powers were getting to stronge, so she had to transend to another plain. In X3 she'll come back to save everyone as the Phenoix.

I thought her powers were fluxuating. They would be super strong at one point (with the firey glow in her eyes) and then very weak at the next point. The X-Men jet was shot down by a missile because her powers had failed. It was just at the end that she showed just how powerful she had the potential to become with the pending transformation into the Phoenix.

Hey, everyone! I just did a quick count of our posts on the board. We only need 16 more posts in order to have 100 posts for this month already! Considering we're not even 1/4th of the way into the month, this is ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING!

Here's a list of other topics on the forum which have more posts than us as of today's date (8/6/03):

General Sci Fi: Television - 421
The Next Generation - 422
Enterprise - 426
General Sci Fi: Movies - 456
Outpost Cousteau - 481*
Lionheart - 487*
Deep Space 9 - 518
Centauris - 525
Starbase 27 - 543*
Voyager - 691
Lexington - 831
R&D - 891
ST General - 1010
Potemkin - 1290*
Lounge - 2394

* = combined figures between logs and general

Guys, I just can't say how proud I am of all of you! Our numbers are going through the roof! If we keep this up, we'll overtake a LOT of those other forums, including the Centauris (who we upset last time in terms of monthly posting on the board)!

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!!!

Welcome to the Zealous, N'vrix. And on a side note we have reached 123 Posts for this month, once again GREAT JOB EVERYONE.
And on another side note, I would have to say the best movie I have seen this summer would be X-Men 2.

Looks like we've started a trend!

I don't know if any of you have noticed, but the Centauris (our message board competitors) seem to have started their own thread asking for their crew to contribute storyline ideas.

Imitation is definitely the best form of flattery . . . or is it jealousy since we're still beating them with the number of posts for the month? LOL!

As long as they don't change the name of their Galaxy class ship to Zealous B then we could use all the flattary we can get our hands on.

I just checked, and the first post said July 6th. The first one on ours was July 30th. That's not too much of a difference, but you are right. They had it first. I definitely stand corrected.

Until yesterday, I didn't even think they had one since it was probably buried within all of the posts on the board, LOL!

YOU SHOULD ALL BE EXTREMELY PROUD OF WHAT YOU HAVE ACCOMPLISHED!

Here is a list of forums which still have more posts on the boards than we do (as of 8/11/03, approximately 12:00pm):

Starbase 27 - 544*
Centauris - 588
Voyager - 699
Lexington - 845
R&D - 913
ST General - 1016
Potemkin - 1291*
Lounge - 2429

* = combined figures between logs and general

Again, congratulations everyone! Keep up the great work!

Please welcome aboard Ensign Breena Channing, who will be joining us in Counseling!

Breena, better start getting your appointment book out! I've got a feeling you're going to have people in line, ready to pound down the door to your office anytime now! If they don't want counseling, they'll probably try to woo you (since there's so few women on board). LOL

We've already talked about movies, but do you guys have a favorite movie series? It needs to be something that has, at minimum, at least 3 films to be counted.

No, don't include Star Trek into that, since that's kind of a given anyways!

I've got one mind, which will be releasing a forth movie in the near future, but I wanted to see what are your favorites. Don't be shy!

My favorite, without a doubt, has to be the Back to the Future trilogy. I love the mystery involved with time travel, and the twists that can be created with paradoxes.

There are quite a few movie series that I enjoy watching.

The Indiana Jones trilogy ranks fairly high on that list, although the second movie pales by comparison to the first and (especially) the third.

If I had to pick one, I would have to say Star Wars. It deals with an aspect similar to Star Trek, in the sense of space adventure, plus contains all of the classic elements that makes for a good storyline - drama, action, mystery, suspense, romance, plus a few twists along the way.

Anyone else?

Good choice, Taneth! Of the Bond movies, I think the ones with Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan are the best. Roger Moore was good, but he seemed a bit too stiff.
