The information from General Nagy not only proved an information goldmine for the Rebellion, but for us as well. The science department has spent the better part of 12 hours pouring over the information. It seems this wormhole, or one very similar, has made appearances before. The Badlands are unstable to begin with, but the area also appears to be some sort of convergence zone when all the elements come together. Now, how do we capitalize on this and quickly?

From the information itself, Science has deduced that the wormhole always begins in our universe. That was disheartening to hear since we are not in our own universe and are unable to contact anyone who is in it unless the wormhole is open. So, we are still faced with having to open the wormhole from this end, if possible. Science rates that the possibility is around 35%. Not very high odds. We would have to pin-pointly flood the area with verteron particles with enough particulate density to force a wormhole to open. The Bajoran wormhole is one supercondensed cone of verteron particles. Their other recommendation was just to sit and wait at the coordinates we came into and pray that someone decides to "blow up" the Badlands or something else to further distablize the region. Frankly, I am tired of waiting. Currently, the deflector dish is being reconfigured to start pumping verteron particles at the proper coordinates.

Success rate of 35%? Science was rather unforthcoming as to why those odds were so low. What they did say was not very comforting. If, and they meant if, we were successful in opening the wormhole, just the initial instability and close proximity we will have to be to the damn thing (to flood the area with verteron particles) will most likely be enough to tear the ship apart as we go through it. Great. Where do we sign up?
